Yes, the rate of these materials can be made zero and the cost excluded from the estimate.

Q13.Can BuildSystem be linked with drawings?

BuildSystem has a LBH template. Users can enter the measurements in the template and attach the drawings.
The quantities from the template get digitally transfered to the items.

Q14.Can I digitally extract quantities from drawings and transfer them to BuildSystem for estimating?

We have linked the drawings in Revit with the items of work in Revit which have been transferred from Buildsystem. See the demo on www.buildsystem.in

BuildSystem has DSR (Civil and Electrical) and MORTH SOR

BuildSytem has non-scheduled items which are included in IPMG SOR

IPMG SOR includes 5000 items with analysis relating to Civil, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC and Interiors

IPMG items have been prepared by a team of well known practicing architects and engineers
The analysis have been prepared by a team of well known retired CPWD engineers

Q20. How many manufacturers are given in BuildSystem?

BuildSystem has over 1600 manufacturers. More manufacturers are being added on regular basis

Q21. Can I add manufacturers and vendors in BuildSystem?

Q24. What is the frequency of updating of material rates?

The key material rates in the items are being updated on quarterly basis The balance material rates in the items are being updated on yearly basis
Users can also update the material rates at their end.
IPMG can provide services for updating of material rates of users as per their requirement

Q25. How are the material rates updated in BuildSystem software?

The material rates are updated on BuildSystem web and users can download in BuildSystem software

Q26. What is the authenticity of the material rates?

The material rates are entered in BuildSystem web from price lists of manufacturers .
Discounts are taken from authorised vendors.

Q27. Can I change the material rates?

Yes, you can change the material rates in BuildSystem software

Q28. Can I depend on the material rates given in BuildSystem?

The material rates have been taken from manufacturers and vendors. Their contact information is provided.
There may be a time gap between the date when IPMG has taken the material rates and when the users are using it.
As such, the users are advised to contact the manufacturers and vendors and update the material rates.

Q29. Where do I add my new items and materials in BuildSystem ?

The 13 digit coding system is in Levels 1,2,3,4 and 5. Levels 1,2,3 and 4 have 2 digit each.
Level 5 has 5 digits.In levels 1,2,3 and 4 ,users can add new Items and materials after the 80 code.In level 5, it is after the 80000 code.

Q30. Can I enter my database in BuildSystem as a separate database?

Yes

Q31. What is the basis of 13 digit coding system?

The 13 digit coding system is based on MasterFormat and RS Means coding system.

Q32. What is MasterFormat?

MasterFormat is an industry standard coding system for items and materials in US and Canada.
It has numbers left in between and it can be expanded.

Q33. What is URC?

URC stands for user referance code. It is a unique code given by users for their items and materials.

Q34. What is a uniform coding system ?


A uniform coding system is developed by experts after considering a large database of items and materials.
The coding is unambiguous and unique.
It is universal.
It is stable, as changes are widely discussed, accepted and incorporated.
It is efficient, due to common language of communication.
It facilitates end- to-end SCM applications

Q35. What is the difference between excel and BuildSystem?

Excel is a spreadsheet without a relational database. In excel, a user can cut and paste and apply formula.
BuildSystem is a software with a relational database.
In BuildSystem, the data can be digitally transfered from one file to another file based on the codes.
In BuildSystem web, the materials are linked to manufacturers and vendors and are being regularly expanded and updated.

Users can download the data from BuildSystem web to BuildSystem software and update their data.

Yes, the output from BuildSystem can be generated in CSV or excel file which can be transfered to another ERP system.

Q41.Can I take back-up of BuildSystem?

BuildSystem has a construction cost database with a 13 digit coding system and a software for estimating and tendering.
Based on the 13 digit coding system, a master database of all the published databases and user's own database can be prepared.
No other software for estimating and tendering has a cost database with a uniform coding system.
As such, the price of BuildSystem can't be compared with other software.
